Character Information
Name: Móno
Canon: Little Nightmares 2
Canon Point: Late game - After he unhooks the train car the Thin Man is chasing him on, but before it crashes.
Age: Young? Guessing 10-12ish? It’s unstated in canon.
(canon) background: https://littlenightmares.fandom.com/wiki/Mono#Little_Nightmares_II
abilities:
Abilities I don’t expect to be possible in game but thought it necessary to share for the sake of the app marked with an *
Sneaky: The child often desperate to not be seen by the ‘adults’ in his world, as many wish to kill him. He’s used to quietly “sneaking around” and finding creative places to hide. Climbing up to inaccessible places (roofs, high shelves, light fixtures and vents), using shadowed corners or crawling into tight spaces to avoid capture.
Stronger than he looks: Móno is deceptively strong for a kid so scrawny looking. His world is scaled very differently than the average, with his stature being slightly shorter than your standard sledgehammer. Which, when threatened or in need of a getaway, he has the capability to drag around and swing a hammer that large to defend himself and others against attackers. He, like many of the children in his world, are desperate survivalists. They don’t tend to go down without a fight.
Problem Solving: Móno is actually quite clever and resourceful when it comes to working out puzzling situations in order to get out of trouble or to progress on his journey. He knows how to stand back and look at the world around him to find creative solutions to a problem, often using what’s found around him.
TV Travel*: While this is probably unlikely to be relevant in Aterat, Móno has the ability to travel from one functional tv to another. The TV must be turned on and he doesn’t appear to have much control over the ability at this point, the distance seems to be based on how close the TVs are to one another, so the closer the original tv accessed, the more likely it is for him to pop out of that one. Another small sign of how bad he is at controlling his ability is that sometimes his power overloads and breaks the tv he pops out of...
‘Signal Tuning’*: It’s possible that he is as of yet unaware of this ability from the point in the game I’ve pulled him from. If he does know, I suspect that 1. He doesn’t know how to control it and can only tap into it when he’s extremely stressed/upset given when he used it in the game. 2. I believe to do anything terribly powerful he needs the connection to the signal tower to amplify his abilities.
But Mono has the ability to adjust the warped state of the world around him, not unlike when you adjust an old-fashioned television to fix the picture. The buildings (and really his world in general) are incredibly warped by the signal and the ‘Thin Man.’
When he chooses to fight back against both, it’s seen that he can fix the warped and damaged state of things around him. Buildings that were crumbling/crooked suddenly straighten and seem to look a little less worse for wear, as though the signal has been adjusted or time has wound back on the buildings. He also ‘skips’ the walk to the signal tower at this point, seeming to warp forward to the point that he’s standing right in front of it. ‘The Thin Man’ displayed the same ability, though more controlled, in his pursuit of Mono by seeming to suddenly appear much closer than he was a moment before.
This is something he’s only seen doing once at the end of the game, and only out of necessity. Also considering who Mono actually is, one could argue that he could also use his abilities to warp the world around him as well instead of fix it, and slow things down around him. Again, he probably doesn’t know he can do any of this yet.
Personality:
Móno is a quiet and shy child, hiding his face behind a paper bag mask for fear of how the world around him will react if they see him. He has a very strong sense that the world around him doesn’t like him, and wants him to fail. He doesn’t entirely understand why that is, only that most ‘people’ (or more accurately the soulless husks of those left in the world around him) try to catch and contain or kill him when they spot him. Thus, he doesn’t have much reason to talk until he meets Six. Even then, he’s very quiet unless trying to get her attention, probably out of practice when it comes to socializing with others.
That said, while cautious, Móno is quite stubborn and single minded when it comes his goals. Despite the challenges and utter horrors that his world throws at him, he continues to push forward and refuses to give up until he succeeds. Even if it’s dangerous, he puts on a ‘brave face’ (his mask) and meets the problems head on.
Whether he needs to get his hands dirty to survive, puzzle for ages over a problem in order to figure out how to proceed, or take what appear to be extreme risks to his person to achieve something he doesn’t think twice. This might be because he doesn’t always think a plan all the way through before he executes it, such as when he impulsively grabs an ax and starts hacking through the door of the room Six is trapped in at the start of the game in an attempt to set her free. This results in him scaring her and making her run away until she realizes he doesn’t actually mean her any harm and that he wants to help.
Of course, some of this might be because he’s quite young and susceptible to the calls of the signal tower. Through much of the game, right up until he releases the ‘Thin Man,’ Móno is drawn to the pale city and TVs that are left on. He legitimately can’t resist the call, as it gives him an incredible headache and seems to call forth his abilities with adjusting the tv signal until he touches the screen. He becomes entirely unaware of the world around him, and needs Six to pull him back to reality before the signal gets him to do whatever it wants.
Despite the fact that the world is very challenging to survive in, and there are many people who are out for themselves and focus more on self preservation than helping... Móno is very compassionate and good hearted at this point in his life. He’s deeply disturbed by some of the things he sees, heart racing and panic apparent through a variety of circumstances.
Not to mention, If he sees someone in trouble he’s quick to try to help them out. Once he cares about someone, he is incredibly loyal and gets very attached. Even when it might be both safer and easier to move on alone, he chooses to save Six on multiple occasions in the game.
Even when it would be smarter to kill a foe, Móno occasionally as the option to spare a life and move on without consequence compared to his counterpart who tends to go with what seems like a more sensible option when it comes to survival. That’s not to say Móno isn’t capable of killing, there are many occasions where he proves that if it means surviving he wont hesitate.
At the end of the day, Móno is also still very much a child with an imagination and a desire to do what most kids do. He still desires to play games, get into mischief. Even when things are so very serious, he has been known to stop and have a little fun when it’s safe enough. Examples are: Putting a soccer ball on his head and running through the goal posts at the school, playing with a paper airplane he finds as well as a toy paper boat, bouncing around on piano keys to make a chaotic racket, by playing a game of catch with the mannequins (safely trapped behind a bunch of boards) at the hospital.
Móno does, of course, have a breaking point. When pushed too far his temper will break, he’ll forget about his fears of being seen and will stand up to the ‘Thin Man’ if it means an end to being hunted and saving his friend Six. This hasn’t happened yet, but it stands to reason that being pushed and over stressed could result in a breaking of his temper here as well.
Inventory:

-Trench coat pockets: Universal remote control, postman hat, sou’wester hat, raccoon hat, newsboy hat and bandage wraps.

Which of the following would they most like to have in abundance: limitless good luck, the freedom to act without restraint, the ability to teach and to learn, or for everyone to just relax? For everyone to just relax (and stop trying to kill him please)
